Saturday Post #2

I just had to share this: http://parenting.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/01/21/new-mother-new-word/#more-18545 It made me feel better, especially reading the comments.

Here are my random thoughts somewhat related to this:
- Snicks and I called AGN our niece's name (also a three-syllable A name) for the first couple of days.
- I have broken down on more than one occassion simply because I want to: eat/do laundry/shower/pee and cannot juggle it all at once.
- Why do people want to skype with an infant? Really, she is probably going to be sleeping and possibly feeding whenever we schedule the time and it will be less than exciting. You can tell me how beautiful she is (she really is, isn't she?) for as long as you like, but I don't really want to just sit there and stare at you saying it. Heck, I could be eating/doing laundry/showering/peeing if she is sleeping.
- I have obsessively put visual-stim images all over our home. She's getting smarter, right?

What...you don't want to skype with me so that I can ooh and ahh over little Addie? LOL!! I guess I will have to wait until you guys come to MN - which I can't wait for! Okay, forgive me again...I can't remember the spelling of her nickname. You are doing a great job and are the best momma for little AGN EVER!

Um, if you skype can't they see you? 99.9% of the time I am not presentable to the public so skyping is out of the question, lol. Also, breaking down is part of parenting :) And...I called AJ, Charlie and now I mix all of their names up with the dog. Just call me my mother! Hang in there!
